The image was processed in a desktop browser with Kompixa. Output format was WebP, maximum dimensions were 1920 × 1920, starting quality was 82%, and the maximum file-size target was 500 KB. The result stayed at 1920 × 1080 and finished far below the target.
This test shows that a screenshot-like PNG can sometimes shrink dramatically when converted to WebP. It is not a promise that every image will shrink by the same percentage. Photographs, illustrations, transparency, noise and browser encoding support can produce different results.
Open Kompixa, select a PNG, choose WebP, keep maximum dimensions at 1920 × 1920, set a 500 KB target and process the image. The files remain on the device because conversion runs locally in the browser.
