What Kompixa removes
The workflow decodes each selected image and creates a newly encoded output. The new file is generated from pixels rather than by copying the original file container, so the original EXIF and GPS metadata is not carried into the output.
Embedded data
Camera model, capture settings, timestamps and GPS coordinates stored in the original metadata container are not copied into the new output.
Visible information
Faces, documents, landmarks, reflections, screens and readable text remain visible because they are part of the pixels.
File names
A revealing original name can still disclose context. Use the rename pattern to create neutral output names when needed.
Safer sharing checklist
- Process the images locally.
- Inspect the new files with a metadata viewer when the risk is high.
- Review every visible detail at full size.
- Rename outputs if the file names disclose people, places or dates.
- Keep private originals separate from files intended for sharing.
