How does the 100KB compressor work?
The 100KB workflow tests browser-encoded JPEG or WebP outputs and adjusts quality and dimensions until each supported image is at or below the selected limit. Source images remain on the device.

Target-size method
Kompixa reduces encoder quality first. If the output remains too large, it gradually reduces dimensions and retries. The original is never overwritten.
What can prevent the target
PNG does not expose the same quality control. Browser memory, unsupported formats and unusually large dimensions can also limit processing.
Keep the original
Use the result as a delivery copy. Keep the original file separately for future editing, printing or a different compression target.
Is 100KB enough for a website image?
Often, yes, for moderate display sizes. Large hero images or high-density screens may need a higher limit, so compare the processed preview at the final display size.
Will every result be exactly 100KB?
No. Outputs are designed to be 100KB or less and can finish far below the ceiling.
Are source files uploaded?
No. Supported processing runs in the current browser and the source image is not sent to Kompixa.
