What is the 200KB preset optimized for?

The 200KB preset keeps more detail than the 50KB and 100KB workflows while still targeting common web, application and upload limits. It processes supported images locally and keeps completed results together.

Evidence on this page

The page uses a distinct 200KB target and quality-first dimensions rather than copying the smaller presets.

Important limit

Some photographs will still require dimension reduction, and browser encoders can produce different files on different devices.

Why this 200KB preset is different

A 200KB target gives the browser encoder more room for texture and text while still cutting page weight substantially compared with many original camera files.

Target-size method

Kompixa reduces encoder quality first. If the output remains too large, it gradually reduces dimensions and retries. The original is never overwritten.

What can prevent the target

PNG does not expose the same quality control. Browser memory, unsupported formats and unusually large dimensions can also limit processing.

Keep the original

Use the result as a delivery copy. Keep the original file separately for future editing, printing or a different compression target.

Will every result be exactly 200KB?

No. Kompixa aims for 200KB or less. A simple image can be much smaller, while a highly detailed image may require a dimension reduction to cross the limit.

Will every result be exactly 200KB?

No. Outputs are designed to be 200KB or less and can finish far below the ceiling.

Are source files uploaded?

No. Supported processing runs in the current browser and the source image is not sent to Kompixa.
